Microsoft Consumer Account with OneDrive

OneDrive for Business is different than OneDrive. A OneDrive account is tied to a personal Microsoft consumer account that is not managed by UGA. An OneDrive for Business account is tied to an institutional UGAMail (Office 365) account that is managed by the University.

Anyone who was associated with the University on August 2, 2013 and had a UGAMail account was automatically given a Microsoft consumer account, which includes OneDrive and Skype.

Anyone who started with the University after August 2, 2013 doesn’t automatically have a Microsoft consumer account. You can request a Microsoft consumer account by registering with Microsoft.

Please note that your Microsoft consumer account password is different than your MyID password. The passwords to your MyID and Microsoft account are not synced together.

If you forgot your Microsoft consumer account password, please contact Microsoft. If you need assistance with your MyID password, please visit myid.uga.edu.
